Many thanks to the owners (and also our very good friends) Chuck and Kelly...  we can't see an egg without Jameson talking about spending time on your farm collecting eggs... and he tells anyone that will listen what a "nest egg" is...     And to their son, Tyler... even though Dad said "no" to the gun- I think you look very "James Bond" anyway!

    

Meet Sean... he helped me the entire shoot - moving pianos, lights, getting this and that... WHAT A SWEETHEART!  I hope my Jameson grows to be as kind as Sean...  Here's a couple of my favorites of Sean...

Sarah Grace just takes my breath away.  Her beautiful eyes and lashes are just stunning!  She was such a trooper... I think she's grown a foot since I saw her last month.  Many hugs to Carol for letting Sarah Grace model for me. 



Meet Reece... He wore the 2 shirts even though he didn't want to for his "Aunt Missy".  What a cutie!   Have you ever seen such beautiful eyes?  I hope his mom gave him lots of M&Ms like she promised!



And beautiful in Pink... Abby. She's a natural... I hear she was asked to model for Martha Pullen today too... I could not have asked for a more polite coorporative model... thanks Abby!



and last- a big hug for Madeline... I think her mom brought her in still asleep- once she woke up- what a great model.  Madeline has the most soulful eyes for a four year old I have ever seen.

Wow- what a weekend!  I attended the Professional Photographer's of Mississippi and Alabama's Spring Seminar.  There were wonderful and inspiring speakers who filled my head full of new ideas!

 

One of the great things about belonging to a professional association like this - is the opportunity to participate in print competition.  Print competition is an important tool for photographers to sharpen their skills, get wonderful feedback on their work (it helps to have thick skin!), and be recognized for their photographic abability.  A panel of 6 master photographers judges each entry on 12 different criteria.  It's tough competition.... just thought I would share some of my entries...


"Charmed"
Beautiful little Sophia sure was a charmer and placed an overall 3rd place in the electronic imaging category.



"You got your shot, now I'm outta here" (thanks to Jamie for the title!)
You might remember this piece from a previous post... It's modified a little...  This print was my highest scoring entry and was awarded a "Merit Print" which means the judges scored it above an 80 out of a possible 100 points.



"Ryan, Michael or Josh"  (again, clever title by my husband!)
What a fun image!  Many thanks to Anna- who was a crack up and a joy to photograph!  This one got lots of talk from the judges... which can be a good or a bad thing!  Turns out they liked it and also awarded the image a "Merit Print".

And this last one did not win a thing.... but it sure got a lot of attention from the judges and the seminar attendees... so I thought I would show it - it was my favorite and I thought if any of them would merit - this one would, but I was wrong... I will most likely re-work this one in Photoshop and submit it again...  but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this print anyway!
