But, mom really wanted one of his big beautiful blue eyes... so we waited (and thanks to Dad who was an awesome trooper... taking big brother on a ride- somewhere) while we waited... and then got this:

Christmas is my favorite time of the year... and for me, Christmas season starts, well, RIGHT NOW! How many cards do you send? Last year, we sent 200! {I blame that on my Army collection of friends!} But I have to say, that is one of my very favorite things around Christmas- receiving photos, letters and cards - and because so many of our friends are in the Armed services, it is fun to see where everyone is stationed from year to year and see how everyone's children have grown.

If you'd like a MTS card... schedule soon! Right now, my schedule is full until mid-September. As you can imagine, the Fall is a very popular time to have portraits made. My cut off for portrait sessions this year is the week before Thanksgiving. Of course, I will make exceptions for newborns .
If you have already had a session and would like a card made- let me know- I'll be happy to design one just for you. Also, remember anyone who met a bonus level for their last session- your next sitting fee is complimentary.

"Daddy's Wing Man" Distinguished Print - Portrait of a child Received a merit and also scored in the "Exceptional Category" We debated forever on what to call this one! Reene- you are the queen of print names... many thanks- the judges commented a couple times about how well the print matched the name.
"Red" (This is my beautiful Niece, Emily!) Distinguished Print for Character Study Category
"Mary Go Round" Merited Print (Her name is not really Mary- but "Ashlyn Go Round" just didn't have the same effect!). Print names are very important... it's usually up to the last minute deciding. Jamie named this one!
"Waiting For You" Merited Print And... (do you remember the Claire print from last time that did not merit? It's in this blog entry.) Well, I feel vindicated! Claire- we got our award winning image this time... she is such a soulful 3 year old! Many thanks to my good friend, Goode, who named this one.

For my past Cornerstone Clients: I was very sad to hear that your wonderful program was no longer. My two children spent 2 great years there - we were blessed with caring and wonderful Christian teachers and staff. It was a special place that I will always have fond memories of... Jameson and Caroline still point at it when we go by the Church and say "Look, there's our old school!" Amazing what their minds can retain!

I came across this on youtube and could not resist putting it here. We try to teach our children (and we try hard to practice it ourselves!) Live is what you make of it. In a time where everyone is talking about how bad the economy is, how high gas prices are, how messed up the presidential race is, how horrible public schools are, and on and on....
